What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a method of orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners, instead of metal wires and brackets. Invisalign uses 3D computer imaging technology to create one-of-a-kind aligners, specific to each patient's treatment goals and needs. Over the past decade, Dr. Ralph has used Invisalign to successfully treat over 300 patients. Will your smile be next?

How does Invisalign work?

First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Ralph to determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. He will evaluate your bite conditions (malocclusions) and make an assessment as to whether or not Invisalign would be successful. The other major factor in achieving success with Invisalign is your commitment to wearing the clear aligners full time, or at least 22 hours a day.

After your consultation, we'll take a series of digital impressions, and create a unique treatment plan to help you achieve your ideal smile. You'll receive a set of aligners to be worn for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move slowly but steadily until they reach their final, straightened positions prescribed by Dr. Ralph.

In order for your treatment to stay on schedule, it is important to visit Dr. Ralph at either our Spokane or Liberty Lake offices, so we can track your progress. These appointments won't last long, and usually need to be scheduled once every eight to twelve weeks. Most patients complete treatment with Invisalign in as little as 12 months, though this will vary from case to case. Once Invisalign treatment is completed, you will be given a retainer to wear full time for 8 weeks, followed by long term night-time wear.
